The goal of Turning Winds is to be able to offer exceptional therapeutic services to everyone who can benefit from our care. For those seeking treatment, the type and length of care can vary dramatically.
For example, those individuals who have either recently completed residential treatment (24/7 care) or for other reasons are looking for intensive therapy without the necessity of living onsite, we offer both Partial Hospitalization Services (PHP) and Intense Outpatient services.

Our Partial Hospitalization Services are available five days per week, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m at our Troy, Montana location. If you are interested in learning more about this level of care, feel free to contact our offices at 800-845-1380.
Similar to Residential Treatment, Partial Hospitalization is an intensive form of treatment requiring substantial buy-in and commitment from the client. PHP provides all of the same therapeutic components that are found in residential treatment but is built to work around a daytime schedule. It is perfect for those individuals who have living arrangements and work schedules that allow them flexibility.
Treatment sessions in both PHP and IOP are administered during the day, with the main difference being the number of hours and days spent at the facility. In our Partial Hospitalization Program, it is generally required that clients spend up to 8 hours a day as part of their continued effort to overcome their addiction and/or other negative behaviors that are disrupting their lives.
Turning Winds follows a model of treatment that includes Residential Treatment Services for clients in need of structure and monitoring. Crisis Intervention services are also available for all clients on a 24/7 basis.
Turning Winds utilizes a clinical model treatment approach. Our highly trained staff are proficient in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing
Turning Winds has developed a highly structured program schedule to meet the needs of the population served. All treatment provided at Turning Winds is provided using a Client/Family-Centered approach.
The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) treats drug and alcohol abuse while simultaneously allowing students to live life on life’s terms. The PHP, by way of its structure, will work too closely mirror the day-to-day life that a client will experience once addiction treatment has been completed.
Individuals who take part in our PHP will first meet with our Medical Director and Clinical Director to properly determine an individualized addiction treatment program. Once a course of action is agreed upon by everyone involved, the journey toward honest recovery can begin.
Individuals will be assigned to a residence based on gender as our complexes are gender-specific, and they will be under 24-hour supervision. Each day, clients will be transported to and from our drug treatment center in South Florida for a day in accordance with the client’s individualized treatment plan.
This may include group sessions, individual assessments, psychiatric consultations, dietary training, and exercise, all of which are intended to effect change through positive action. Upon conclusion of a day of treatment, individuals will be housed in our nearby residential complexes where clients can spend the duration of the evening and attend AA, NA, or any other twelve-step meeting.
The length of our PHP varies depending on the individualized addiction treatment plan as it relates to the needs of a client, though the duration is usually 30, 60, or 90 days.
Once substance use disorder treatment is sought and the PHP is implemented, clients and their families will receive attention from a designated counselor and a caring staff whose only concern is the laying of a foundation for lifelong and effective recovery. Please contact us for further information as to how the PHP fits into your treatment plan.
This phase is intensive, to help the client learn to function without the use of negative behaviors, as well as the use of alcohol and drugs. The focus of the program is on creating a stable pattern of living through education, process groups, and individualized treatment planning.
Partial Hospitalization provides structure and support while preparing the client to begin integration back into his or her community and daily life.
The Partial Hospital Program is used as a step up from a less intensive level of care, or as a step down from a more intensive level of care, such as Residential Treatment. The group meetings are treatment-focused, as well as didactic or processing in nature.
