When your child returns home, they will have the tools to succeed back in their home environment. The young adult will have more self-confidence, be more self-reliant, and display a healthy sense of optimism. With this foundation, they can better navigate the world that before may have felt overwhelming.
Turning Winds continues to be there for them during this critical transition. Leading up to this moment, our staff worked with local support and therapists planning aftercare options. We begin with weekly calls after their return home and as they become more comfortable, we are able to extend the periods between check-ins with the goal of independence.
Ultimately, we tend to remain connected and are a part of the major milestones of life. High school and college graduations are frequent events we are invited to as these young men and women continue their paths through life. Eventually, weddings and even births are shared with the Turning Winds family with some former clients traveling back to share their stories of hope with others who are just beginning their journey. For twenty years, we’ve had the honor and privilege of being there for these children when they needed us most and we look forward to the generations staying with us for the next twenty years.
